Kuala Lumpur, 26 September 2007¿ Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia) Berhad has opened its third branch in the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur along the thriving Bukit Bintang shopping zone. The ambassador designate of the State of Kuwait to Malaysia, H.E. Monther Bader Al-Eissa graced the soft opening ceremony, accompanied by Mr. Ahmad Al-Filly, the diplomatic attach¿ in Malaysia for the State of Kuwait.
In his welcome note, Mr. K Salman Younis, the Managing Director of KFHMB said: "As what we had initially set out to do, I reiterate our commitment that wherever Kuwait Finance House is present, we would like to contribute towards the development of Islamic banking & finance in Malaysia, and the region. "
The branch provides convenient access to Islamic banking products within the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur retail complex. With a net lettable area of 1.37 million square feet, the complex offers an unprecedented retail experience spanning six distinctive precincts, namely Couture Pavilion, Bintang Circle, Gourmet Emporium, Connection, Seventh Heaven and Home, spread over seven retail levels.
"With the newly established Retail & Consumer Banking Division, the Bank now has a team of professionals who can focus on delivering more innovative products and services to our customers, later this year," adds Mr. Salman. "Another initiative is the first Commercial Banking Centre located in the Shah Alam branch, which will be operational, hence providing easy access for our customers in the SME segment."
Board Members as well as senior management of KFHMB were present to witness the ceremony.
The new branch opened simultaneously with the soft launch of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, forms part of KFHMB's strategy to facilitate a growing awareness of Islamic banking to the community at large. It also reflects the latest effort by KFHMB to roll out its retail banking products and services, in the course of making Malaysia as the regional hub for its parent company, Kuwait Finance House, Kuwait. In December 2006, KFHMB had opened its second branch in Shah Alam.
Mr. Salman concludes, "In tandem with this, we will open more branches in order to reach out and be closer to our customers."
