Johor Bahru, 6 November 2007 - Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia) Berhad (KFHMB) has launched its Awareness Campaign today and the State Government of Johor has given KFHMB the privilege to make Johor the platform and the launching ground of this campaign.
"This will be the first in a series to be held in key market centres throughout Malaysia," stated Yang Berbahagia Dato' K. Salman Younis, the Managing Director of KFHMB, in his welcoming address at the launching of the Johor Bahru Awareness Campaign. "Our objective of conducting the Awareness Campaign is firstly to introduce ourselves to the Johor community, as we wanted to personally meet all of you."
"The Director of Economic Planning Unit for the State of Johor, Yang Berhormat Dato' Hamsan Saringat, was the guest of honour and officiated the campaign.
The other objectives of the campaign according to Dato' Salman is to elaborate on what Islamic banking is about and to create awareness as well as to highlight on some of KFHMB's products and services and what the bank can offer to investors in Johor.
Chief executives, key officers and medium to upper level management from the state government, as well as the public and private sectors and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) operating in Johor attended the Johor Bahru Awareness Campaign
The KFHMB team comprising the various sections of the bank ¿ Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial banking, Retail & Consumer Banking Shariah, International Business, Global Research, Private Equity, treasury, Automotive and Trade Services came in full force to showcase what the bank has to offer.
The campaign was a full-day event where eight papers were presented by various heads of units of KFHMB.
The Managing Director added, "We have brought Senior Management of KFH-Malaysia who will demonstrate the various structures that KFH-Malaysia can tailor to complement your needs." These include project and contract financing, trading and working capital financing, investment and asset financing.
Participants were also given an opportunity to interact with representatives from KFHMB and with other guests during the closing Tea Reception and Networking Session.
Given the core value of this global leader in Islamic banking to support the vision and mission of the countries in which it operates, Dato' Salman reiterated, "As an indication we are the only bank acquiring a concession to develop the IDR, where we have purchase lands in IDR in joint-venture with Khazanah Nasional."
The Managing Director also indicated that KFHMB would open a branch in Johor Bahru soon to better serve its corporate clients and business communities. Through its presence in Johor, KFHMB will continue the role of acting as a bridge between the Middle East and Asian regions, apart from expanding its network, to promote greater economic integration.
