Kuala Lumpur, 8 September 2010 – Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia) Berhad (KFHMB) has contributed RM110,000 to the Ziarah Ramadan Programme with HRH Tengku Muhammad Faris Petra, the Regent of Kelantan. Handover ceremonies were held at 10 selected mosques in 10 districts in Kelantan, where HRH Tengku Muhammad Faris presented a cash donation of RM200 each to 500 eligible recipients. Identified as hardcore poor, these include wheelchair recipients and chronically-ill patients. The event concluded with ‘Breaking of Fast’ and Terawih prayers with the Regent and the Officials of Kelantan.
In a separate ceremony on 27 August 2010, KFHMB hosted ‘Breaking of Fast’ for 220 children from poor families of Baitul Hasanah Klang, Kuala Selangor and Hulu Selangor. Puan Jamelah Jamaluddin, the Chief Executive Officer of KFHMB, was present to hand over gifts and packets of money for Hari Raya. 70 employees from KFHMB were also present to attend to the young guests. Selected by Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS), the children reside at a hostel under the administration of the body, where they receive proper care and support.
“In conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidil Fitri celebration, we hope to ease the daily burden of the unfortunates and lift their spirits to celebrate this joyous occasion. This is in line with our passion and on-going commitment to help those in need,” said Puan Jamelah.
Over the last five years, as a socially responsible corporate body, KFHMB has undertaken various CSR initiatives involving underprivileged communities, school landscaping and medical assistance. KFHMB strives to be a driving force to make a positive difference in the lives of the community it serves.
