Kuala Lumpur, 16 August 2010 – Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia) Berhad (KFHMB) recently sponsored new spectacles for 112 primary school students from Year One to Year Six. The initiative was an extension of the Bank’s on-going corporate social responsibility projects. A handover ceremony was organised on 24 July 2010 at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Gau, Temerloh, Pahang to present the spectacles to the short-sighted students who had been examined and identified earlier.
“We are always passionate about providing assistance to the community, in particular to children. Hopefully, this will help improve the students’ performance in school, as well as aid their daily living activities,” said Dato’ Ahmad Zaki Razak, Head of Support and Transaction Processing Division, KFHMB, who was present at the handover ceremony.
In addition to the spectacles, KFHMB also provided assistance in the form of books for the school resource centres as well as contributions for UPSR examination camps to two other schools in Temerloh. These consisted of Sekolah Kebangsaan Paya Pulai and Sekolah Kebangsaan Belengu. The Senior Assistant of Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Gau expressed his gratitude, as this was the first time the school was chosen to receive contributions from a corporate body.
Over the last five years, KFHMB have undertaken various CSR initiatives involving underprivileged communities, school landscaping and medical assistance. KFHMB strives to be a driving force to make a positive difference in the lives of the community it serves.
