Kuala Lumpur, 27 December 2010 – Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia) Berhad (KFHMB), the first foreign Islamic bank in the country, will relocate its Shah Alam branch to Commercial Centre, Section 7, effective from 27 December 2010.
Explaining the effort, Puan Jamelah Jamaluddin, Chief Executive Officer of KFHMB said, “In conjunction with Bank’s Fifth Anniversary this year, we have mobilised larger resources to enhance the visibility of our retail and consumer banking. The newly relocated Shah Alam branch will further contribute towards the business plans and overall growth of KFHMB.”
Section 7 is surrounded by residential areas, government offices and commercial outlets. “This new location will enable us to reach out and increase the offerings of our Shariah-based banking services to the customers. We want to be closer to our customers. Moving forward, we plan to set up more branches nationwide in the near future,” added Puan Jamelah.
Currently, KFHMB has seven branches nationwide. These include Bayan Lepas, Penang; Taman Molek, Johor Bahru; Jalan Satok, Kuching; Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur; Jalan Pinang, Kuala Lumpur, Batu Unjur, Klang and Shah Alam, Selangor.
KFHMB became the first foreign financial institution to open a Bureau de Change (BDC) outlet at the Departure Level, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) recently. The Bank also entered into a partnership with Nasim Sdn Bhd, Western Union Co (NYSE:WU), and Malaysian Electronic Payment System Sdn Bhd (MEPS), as part of its retail banking initiatives. New consumer products launched include the KFH Gold Account-i and KFH Personal Financing-i Hajj and Umrah.
