Kuala Lumpur, 7 July 2011 – Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia) Berhad (KFH Malaysia), the first foreign Islamic bank in the country, launched its newest branch in Batu Pahat. Located at No 1 and 3, Jalan Flora Utama, Taman Flora Utama, the branch marks the second in Johor and tenth in KFHMB’s branch network nationwide.
The branch provides KFH Malaysia’s full range of Shariah-based products and services to the business sector, government bodies and retail customers. Commercial Banking services include SME Financing, Contract Financing and Trade Finance. On the retail banking segment, innovative new products such as Gold Account-i, and Personal Financing-i are being offered. In addition, the Corporate and Investment Banking arm provides corporate finance advisory, Sukuk advisory and corporate financing. The Bank also has a range of Treasury products and services.
Commenting on the opening of the new branch, Puan Jamelah Jamaluddin, Chief Executive Officer, KFH Malaysia said, “We have chosen Batu Pahat as our second foray in Johor to cater to the needs of our growing customer base. There is a growing potential for Islamic banking and we aim to meet the demand for Shariah-based financial products and services. In the long run, we hope our presence will support the Johor economic development efforts, especially in key industries such as manufacturing and agriculture.”
Puan Jamelah explained that the move is in line with the Bank’s overall efforts to strengthen the Kuwait Finance House Malaysia brand presence. “Our new advertising campaign which was launched last week is set to cater to the growing network of our retail and commercial banking business. We would like to share our brand with our customers and ensure them that their banking needs will be met and are our main priority. This branding exercise reflects our commitment that we will always strive to ensure that customers get more from their banking with KFH Malaysia,” she said.
“We also introduced our new toll-free phone number, 1800 888 KFH (534), which has been tested with good response. We hope this service will encourage the public to call us and find out what we have to offer as well as share their feedback,” she concluded. She also thanked the authorities of the State of Johor for its support towards Kuwait Finance House, and for the assistance in realising the new branch.
The Bank also organised an Islamic banking briefing for the Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Batu Pahat members to introduce its wide range of products and services.
