Kuala Lumpur, 18 July 2011 – Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia) Berhad (KFH Malaysia), the first foreign Islamic bank in the country, has introduced the Western Union® Money TransferSM service at eight of its ten branches nationwide. These consist of Shah Alam, Klang, Johor Bahru, Penang, Kuching, Kota Bharu, Kota Kinabalu and Batu Pahat. The effort is an extension to the service initially available at the Group’s Bureau De Change, Kuala Lumpur Sentral and at The Pavilion KL Branch. Customers will be entitled to a Kentucky Fried Chicken meal voucher worth RM5.00 for a minimum money transfer of RM500.00 made at all locations. The offer will be valid until 31 August 2011 or while stock lasts.
Explaining the initiative, Puan Jamelah Jamaluddin, Chief Executive Officer, KFH Malaysia said, “With the increasingly competitive environment, customers are looking for enhanced services from their banks. We would like to share the KFH Malaysia brand with our customers and assure them that their banking needs are our main priority. We shall always strive to ensure that customers get more from their banking with KFH Malaysia.”
The service allows consumers to transfer money to more than 400,000 Western Union® Agents in over 200 countries and territories (network data as of 31 March 2011). The funds transferred will be available for collection by the recipient within minutes* of sending by the remitter. In addition to KFH Malaysia account holders, the service is also available to walk-in customers as it utilises a cash-to-cash platform.
