Kuala Lumpur, 27 January 2011 - Puan Jamelah Jamaluddin, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia) Berhad:
With regard to the recent news on 'Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia) Berhad (KFHMB) is collaborating with the Perak State government on the gold dinar and dirham currencies':
We would like to state that we are looking for a broader collaboration in terms of our working relationship with the Perak State government, and not specifically related to the gold dinar.
We are pleased to note that our expanding retail business provides us with an avenue to explore the possibilities of having a physical presence in the state. As an experienced entity in Islamic finance, we look forward to providing products and services to our valuable stakeholders including the various government agencies and the public.
We would like to thank the State government for meeting our Chairman, Mr Shaheen Al-Ghanem recently to explore potential business opportunities in the state.
