Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 10 September 2007 ¿ Mr. K Salman Younis, the Managing Director of Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia) Berhad (KFHMB), is a recipient of the Arab Asian Financial Excellence Award. The award was delivered during the Gala Dinner held on 5 September 2007, at the Palace of the Golden Horses, Kuala Lumpur held in conjunction with the Second Annual Summit of the Arab Asian Financial Forum (AAFF).
H.E. Mr. Osama Saleh, in his capacity as minister and also Chairman of the Investment Authority of Egypt, presented the awards on behalf of Egypt's Minister of Investment, H.E. Mr. Mahmoud Mohieldin. Distinguished and well recognised figures from the Pan-Arab region and Asia received awards for their efforts in promoting Arab and Asian cooperation within the financial sector, reflected in terms of company growth.
The AAFF summit held on 5 and 6 September 2007 at the same hotel, discusses the broad range of topics: Obstacles, Regulations & the Way Forward, Finance in the Arab World, Finance in Asia Real Estate Finance & Development, Insurance, Investment and Economic Development Perspectives. All these pertain to Arab world developments in banking, finance, trade, investment and potential synergistic opportunities in the Arab-Asian region. The keynote speech at the forum was delivered by Mr. Mustafa Al-Saleh, the Chairman and also Managing Director of Kuwait-based Adeem Investments & Wealth Management Company.
During the forum, KFHMB's Director of Research and Chief Economist, Ms. Baljeet Kaur Grewal, presented a paper titled " Islamic Banking Industry: Growth and Potential in Asia."
