Penang, 11 August, 2008 ¿ Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia) Berhad (KFHMB) has opened a new branch, located at Lorong Bayan Indah 1 in Bayan Lepas, Penang. The branch offers the full range of Islamic banking products and services that are available at all its other branches. This is the first KFHMB branch in Penang and the fifth in its network in Malaysia.
Commenting on the latest branch, KFHMB Managing Director, Dato' K Salman Younis said, "We want to make sure that the needs of our existing clients in Penang are well taken care of. We have already set our footprints in Penang with our growing business partnerships. It is worth mentioning that last January we inked an agreement to provide Islamic financing facilities to Ideal Capital, for the development of a 13.5 acre commercial property named The One, Penang Cyber City. Last November, we formed an alliance with another Penang property developer, Corner Side Realty, to underwrite part of The Sanctuary, an exclusive property enclave within the Batu Uban Growth Triangle."
Dato' Salman also thanked the government agencies in Penang for their support of the Bank's expansion into Penang. "The Penang operations will enable us to reach across all market sectors in the northern part of Malaysia. Apart from convenience for our retail customers, we are keen to explore opportunities and strategic partnerships with corporates and the business communities in Penang. As a full-fledged Islamic bank, we are committed to continue our achievements and to serve all our customers with the same quality service that is expected of us."
The opening of the Penang branch reflects the Bank's commitment to service customers with a diversified range of products. The branch houses a Commercial Business Centre and customers will also have access to Priority Banking as well as Corporate and Investment Banking products and services. The new branch is part of KFHMB's phased rollout of its retail banking segment and expansion outside of the Klang Valley. KFHMB has officially opened a branch in Johor Bahru in June.
